Being There Awakenings
I thought it would be fun to share this story with you from the beginning of this incredible, seemingly magical journey I’ve been on…
It is amazing what we can accomplish when we set out to do something… even if we have no idea how or why we are doing it.
I had been having one of those weeks just about a year ago… you know the kind? The kind of week where everything piles up on you, nothing works right, and no matter what you do, it never seems to improve. Yeah… those weeks, when you think nothing else could possibly go wrong…. And then it does.
During this particular week, something unknown and powerful inspired me to sit down and write a story, and for some unknown reason, I didn’t question why this thought even came to me, I just sat down. You see, I love to create, but I never considered myself to be a writer. I stared at the computer for what seemed only a minute or two wondering what I was supposed to write about… and then it happened, as if by magic, out of nowhere, a story line began to create itself and passed through me and onto the screen…
I typed for hours at time as plots, subplots and dialogue poured from my imagination… When I finished, I had written 132, 614 words in 25 chapters on 484 pages and that was only the beginning.
Something truly amazing happened to me during this time, and I thank God that it did, because this was the beginning of something that astounds me to this day, the conception and birth of the Being There Series…
Not only did I write the debut novel of the series, I also developed the titles, plots and story lines for five more books to be included in the series. Each more entertaining as the characters develop and just like the book, it all magically came out of thin air. I don’t know how or why… and I’m not sure I’d like to know, I’m just grateful that it happened.
But I have to tell you, writing the book and developing the series is only part of what happened on this journey… Shortly after beginning the book, I was introduced to a NY Times bestselling author, a publisher, editors, artists, concept and cover designers, layout specialists, etc. etc. Everything and anyone required to put a book out showed up in my life without me having to look for them… I know… It freaks me out a little too, but with all of this happening, I couldn’t help but feel for the first time in a long time, that this is exactly what I am supposed to be doing. So I know… you will all enjoy it!
The Being There Series crosses multiple genres providing entertainment for all; light sci-fi, fantasy, action, adventure, and of course a budding romance with a little mysticism thrown in. When I was writing, I knew I wanted to engage the reader, make them feel the emotion, thrills and excitement… and apparently that is exactly what happened… the beta reviews were incredibly positive…. And I look forward to hearing yours…
